A revealing TV report made by the Portuguese television sender TVI, it was broadcast on January 11th 2011. The documentary of about half an hour shows the inhumanitarian situation of the pensions in Lisbon which shelter the evacuated patients from Cape Verde and also other ex-Portuguese colonies like Guiné Bissau and São Tomé & Principe.
The social issues at hand are very complex but the human tragedy caused by it are unacceptable! The report makes mention of many patients only arriving in Portugal to die in misery…

«Viagem Sem Regresso» (A Journey without Return)
In december 2010 on behalf of the Dany Fondation Grace Beatriz was handed an award by a delegate of the Ministery of Education in Cape Verde. The award was given to express gratitude for the refurbishment of the Marcelino Silva school in the village of Ribeira da Cruz on the island of Santo Antão. In 2009 and 2010 the Dany Foundation raised funds in order to enable this project. Once again our thanks go out to all the donors who contributed!!!
